respect my words.

we have this mentally ill child in my swim team. when the kid's calm, the kid acts like a normal person. when the kid's not, and the kid acts absolutely crazy. the kid's truly a great kid, if we can somehow keep the kid's nerves down!

well, today was not one of the calmer days. the kid was a bit crazier than ever. i got moved into the kid's lane, and it was almost crazy. the kid starts poking me and hitting me. i tell the kid to stop, but the kid just keeps going. here's a bit of the convo we had:

me: " (name) can you please stop touching me?"
kid: " can you please be quiet!!"
me: " (name) can you please stop touching me?"
kid: "hey! i told you to be quiet. RESPECT MY WORDS!"

of all things the kid could say, im asked to respect the kid's words? *sigh*
usually i just try to be really calm with the kid, but today was the weirdest response i ever got from this kid. weirder than this kid's screeches.

later on in the shower room, the kid has to go on getting crazy about a shower? i have no idea. but the whole room was full of tension, and the kid started hitting people and everyone was throwing threats and what not. well, apparently the kid just wanted a shower, so i gave mine to him. problem solved. however, one guy just had to keep provoking the kid. luckily: situation under control.

but really, what shocked me today was that response i got.... "RESPECT MY WORDS!"
