clumsy me.

uggh! i spilled water on my homework. now i cant write over that area, and my homeworks gonna look all messy. great.

told ya.

so i got my SECOND C of the year. im so off to a great start.

i actually have to try this year in chinese class. i mean, its getting pretty hard, to the point where im actually sitting down and studying legitly. yea, even to the point where im taking notes in class. anyways, the time i actually try, my teacher shoves me in the very back. my teacher placed the tables in some diagonal line up, and me being at the tip of it, i can barely see anything on the board. here, lemme draw it up for you:

                                Board
                                       x x x x
                                     x x x x x
                                    x x x x x a

this is just half the tables in the classroom. i sit at point a, and points x is where others with their big heads sit. basically, from my position, the entire bottom half of the board is blocked by other people's heads and i have a hard time looking at the powerpoints and reading whats on the board from where i sit. i mean, i complained to my teacher about it many many many many times. oh, and being so far back from all the "action",  i tend to not pay attention to whats going on, hence the reason why im never understanding how to do the assignments properly! ugghhh.

anyways, i told her many many many many times, but my teacher never listened to me, telling me to suck it up and wait for the next seat change rotation. i mean, im asking you to change my seat for my academic benefit and youre denying me of that!? well, it finally took me, who usually does ok on chinese tests, to get a freakin C. yes i studied real hard, no joke (i took notes remember!). but obviously my notes were lacking a lot because i couldnt see half the freakin board.

well, it took a C to finally get a seat change. aren't i off to a great start!?

check schoolloop.

check schoolloop. check schoolloop.

everyday my chinese teacher tells me to check this site, and specifically check mark her assignments because she always has some special twist to any homework assignment. she'll tell us half the instructions of the assignment in class, and leave the rest on schoolloop for us to find and figure out. shes always doing this, and ive had enough! shes all like "i have a life too" and "i cant reply to all your little emails". well guess what. first, get your instructions straight! you can obviously tell the class doesnt have a set agenda when you start the day by dusting off tables and giving us free time. so being disorganized, our instructions for little projects arent always that clear. thanks for telling me i had to write sentences and phrases, and use a bigger font, and decorating my paper, and all the other random silly things that are making me lose points every project. secondly, pick one or the other. tell us all the instructions in class, or put all the instructions on schoolloop. she'll tell us how the project should be done in class, and she probably just remembers several more things as she posts up the assignment on schoolloop, and then next thing you know im getting a B because i didnt check my "schoolloop".

thanks chinese teacher. "i have a life too".

malfunction.

my stupid printer.

today, my aunt asked me to help her check in for her flight online. sure, five minute deal while doing hw, no biggie. quantas asks for a bunch of stuff before checking in, such as an emergency contact. what is this, school? finally, at the page where you print out your boarding pass, my printer goes cookoo. right now it just reads a whole bunch of japanese stuff, and i cant change it back to english. and i dont know what its saying, and it wont print out my documents. WHAT THE HECK PRINTER. its like it went braindead and  now it cant remember any english. gosh. then my mom and my aunt are like leaning over my desk trying to fix the computer, while im trying to do my homework. my dad is being a smartass and saying that i should be able to fix it if he did the last time this happened. fine. well i cant. so too bad auntie! you cant go to your trip to australia because my dad wont fix my stinkin printer.

well, obviously this isnt going to stop my aunt from going to australia. but now i have a malfunctioning printer and i had to waste half an hour of my life because of it! happy labor day.......

beauty sleep.

SUNDAYS ARE MY TIME TO REST.

i dont like it when people call me earlier than noon, when my parents wake me up for pointless things, when loud sounds are going around in the house/neighborhood. LET ME SLEEP! gosh, on a sunday. just because you're up doesnt mean i want to be up.

piano again.

once again, i am filled with anger as i practice my piano. and no, its not because of my piano teacher because shes awesome.

i cant sit longer than 20 minutes in front of the piano. i cant sit still and seriously play anymore. i cant play anything without trying to speed through it because i know i have tons of other stuff to do (blogging takes me 5 minutes tops, cause i type fast, so it doesnt count as interrupting me. plus it makes me more productive cause all my anger's released). and, sitting in front of the piano, all i can think of is the time im wasting, how im never going to ever improve, and how me playing is all for a lost cause anyways.

the only reason is still play is because my parents want me to "finish all the levels and get it over with". yeah, well mom, dad, its a lot harder than you think! like the other lesson my piano teacher basically listed out everything id need to do just to pass it. well guess what, i cant cover all of that. sure i can do three songs, probably not well. i honestly am not a talented pianist. i dont do emotions and details in my music. i dont move my body like a crazy person like some pianists ive watched do, unless a bug is flying around me. i dont play dynamics cause it makes me blush (makes me seem good and idk... i dont want that. i dont ever want to hear that i actually play well). scales. bleh. i hate em. i work on one area, then id move to the next, and id forget everything that i just learned. so basically im never going to get through them. and theres lots of parts to it too. last week my piano teacher said that scales basically tell you how much effort you put into it. i was horrible at them, so thats OBVIOUSLY telling you something. then theres aural. when she asked me to list them out i couldnt even do it. and i honestly have to remember all this pointless stuff im probably never going to use in my future life. i have to sing (i have no confidence in my singing abilities) i have to identify chords (wtf. how do you do that?). i have to analyze music (that part i get, but honestly, i have to use specific terms. its like studying for a whole new vocab test. but this time theres like a ton of words). then lastly theres sight reading, which im bad at it cant be helped.

so all that crap, and what i wrote up there is probably just the half of it. and my parents say finish this level is going to be easy peasy and that i should do it asap. its like fine, if you want me to fail. im ok with that anyways, at this point. anyways, another thing is that i have to play an exam song for a recital (bleh!). and so basically i have to memorize it. but guess what! because i only play like 20 minutes tops and hardly even 2 practices a week, how do you expect me to memorize it? plus i speed play. one i need to play faster anyways, two i want to get it over with, three im not really getting anything done.

honestly, even if i tried, id see results sooner from swimming than i would from piano. ill never be a pianist, i dont aspire to be a pianist. why am i even bothering?

well fine, piano is alright. i like playing different songs just for fun, if i ever get the chance to. like thats what it started out as. now i just play three stinkin songs once a practice and ive been doing this for like the past five months. and i still wonder why im not having ANY fun?

gah. let me quit, or let me play the way i want to play it. im just gonna keep gettin angry when i play, and its been like this since forever.

no life.

the sacrifice for swimming:

today was a 12:30 dismissal day, and the last one for the next few months. 12:30 dismissal days are great, because we can all go out to lunch with friends and hang out. today, i was supposed to go to the tofu house (korean food!) with friends, but i had to opt out. im sorry for not going, buddies! anyways, i was going to go, but i chickened out because of this really hard set that ill be swimming in about 2 hours.

our set today is going to be an inside-out janet evans set, which is really hard to begin with. on top of this really hard set of endurance free and ims, my coach made it on hard intervals which are almost impossible to make without basically sprinting the whole thing. and on top of all that, we're expected to go! my coach actually hasnt been here for the whole week, because he's out for this coaches' conference in indianapolis. he says he wont know if we dont show up, but honestly, he will. whoever doesnt go will be shot down, and we all know it. (not really shot down, but plundered with lectures like "do you really deserve to be on this team?")

anyways, this is the set i've been dreading all week. and today, i decided not to go with my friends just so i can prep for this set. i called my dad and left school around 12:05 (school ends at like 11:45 for me) and we went to this restaurant where i ordered a huge platter of fried rice. i felt kinda sad because instead of eating out with friends i ate out with my dad... anyways, i finished about 2/3s of the fried rice which i took home. as i left the restaurant, it was nearly 1pm, and kids were already out on the streets. walking out of the restaurant i was like "hide!" to myself.... oh the embarrassment. then as we drove back home, i saw a bunch of people i knew out on the streets. gah i hope none of em saw me. anyways, yes, the drive of shame.

so what am i doing now? well, i think ill just watch how i met your mother until its time to go. in the 'interim' - yes im using my vocab words! - i will finish the leftovers and maybe stretch. i feel like a loser.

all for this one scary set. is it worth it?

anyways, i dont think ill be very happy after this set.... ill probably just be dead. assume that if you dont hear from me in the next 48 hours!
